While I am far from a botanist, I have always had an interest in natural materials and leaves. The lumen prints in this series allow me to explore the way the photographic paper reacts to the natural materials, moisture, and the sun.
After reading more articles about the current state of climate change, I couldn’t get the ideas of impermanence and the rapid progression of time out of my head. The images in this series are a mix of Lumen Print and archival digital prints. The lumen prints take a bit of time and magic to create and when unfixed fade away, in much the same way as our natural surroundings. As time progresses and the same light used to create the images continues to shine upon the surface, these prints will continue to change and ultimately disappear.
